The UK has invited local communities to volunteer to home the UK’s first nuclear fusion reactor. Although still many years from completion, a fusion reactor would provide almost limitless energy while producing minimal waste, a long sought after idea by scientists worldwide. The Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype will utilize the latest in fusion technology. Lucid Motor announced that it completed the first phase of construction at its EV factory in Arizona. Eventually, they plan to produce up to 400,000 electric cars per year at the facility after future expansions. The electric car startup impressed many earlier this year with the unveiling of the Air electric sedan, the company’s first car with a range of up to 517 miles on a single charge. But the vehicle has been delayed twice before and now the market is looking for them to deliver this time with serious production capacity being deployed. A pugnacious half century from Zameer Nazeer steered Blairmont Blazers to a six-wicket win over Cold Fusion yesterday at Tuchen, East Bank Essequibo. The friendly encounter saw Cold Fusion winning the toss and electing to bat. The hosts brought the heat and piled on 142 for seven from their allotted 12 overs but that was not enough for the West Berbice side which raced to 146 for three with five balls to spare. Leading the chase was Nazeer, who clubbed eight sixes and three fours on his way to a top score of 64. Nazeer entered the crease with Blazers already one down and on 24 after Marvan Prashad was dismissed for 10 and went on to add 83 for the second wicket with  Kevon Jawahir. The Fort Wayne saxophonist-songwriter-music teacher-studio musician-live performer has seen the number of gigs he performs dwindle to a few wedding receptions and private parties. He’s even had to look for jobs outside the Fort Wayne area. “I know that COVID-19 has affected a lot of people. In fact, a friend of mine normally plays at venues across the country and in Europe. But with the travel restrictions, she now has no work at all,” Sanders says. “I toured the Midwest the last three summers with her, but not this year.
