Welcome to our letters to the editor/opinion section. To submit yours for consideration, please send to [email protected] Please consider including an image to be used–either a photograph of you or something applicable to the letter. However, an image is not necessary for publication. Remember opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect that of Redheaded Blackbelt nor have we checked the letters for accuracy. Hello to all, It has been brought to our attention the new proposed regulations concerning generators. Many of our farms are off grid and have been told by PGE that they will not supply power. The notion that solar power is green friendly is an arguable subject. We would like to see a study highlighting the social, environmental, and monetary benefits of solar. If we are… Source link

More Sandwiches, Less Kale Foam

More Sandwiches, Less Kale Foam

(Photograph by David Burden Photography/Getty Images.) Dear Reader (including those of you who were excited to learn that Jewish space lasers are real), Years ago, I watched a documentary called Sandwiches You Will Like. It was about the pursuit of cold fusion technology. No wait. That’s not right. It was about sandwiches you would like to eat (in fact, I was sure the full title of the documentary was Sandwiches You Will Like To Eat until I googled it just now). It was a good title and a pretty good documentary. If you’re scrolling through the channel guide and you’re the kind of person who likes to watch TV shows about sandwiches, you’re unlikely to skip past it because the title tells you what the show is about. If they called it Regional Sources of Sustenance: 1910-1980 or… Source link

The Flash’s Wrinkle on Caitlin’s Reunion With Husband Ronnie Is ‘Pretty Messed-Up!’

The Flash’s Wrinkle on Caitlin’s Reunion With Husband Ronnie Is ‘Pretty Messed-Up!’

The following contains spoilers from the April 13 episode of The CW’s The Flash. Well, that happy reunion sure took a turn. More from TVLine This week on The Flash, Caitlin (played by Danielle Panabaker) pulled out all the stops, and even locked horns with Barry and others along the way, as she endeavored to “rescue” late husband Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) from the “black flame” that had entrapped him in some sort of schmience-y limbo state. In the end, someone appearing to be Ronnie did emerge from the Black Flame, after Team Flash used its umpteenth modification of that plastic-looking cold fusion sphere to effect a change. But later that night, in private with Caitlin, “Ronnie” confessed (OK, gloated) that he is not some resurrection of the man she once loved (who… Source link

Classic and Remote B.C. Ski Line Skied for Second Time

Classic and Remote B.C. Ski Line Skied for Second Time

Backcountry skier and filmmaker Michael Wirth made the second known ski descent of Comstock Couloir on the remote Mount Dawson in the Selkirk Mountains. As Wirth said, Comstock Couloir is the least recorded climbed and skied line of all the 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America. “I successfully completed the second recorded ski descent 14 years after Greg Hill completed the first,” said Wirth. “I did it in a continuous solo effort which yielded: 40 km (24.45 miles) 4.14 km (13,590 feet) of elevation gain in 14 hours and 15 minutes.” This is my journey and battle to climb and ski the Comstock Couloir of Mt. Dawson in a single effort: Fourteen years ago, this line saw its first descent. Fourteen years went by with no one successfully recording a re-entrance into the… Source link
