A critical meta commentary in The Flash season 8 affirmed just how pointless the death of Eddie Thawne ultimately was. Introduced into the series as a Detective with the CCPD, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) was also an ancestor of the Reverse-Flash, Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher).
