Statistician Creates Formula To Predict When A Child May Throw A Tantrum In Long Car Journeys

Statistician Creates Formula To Predict When A Child May Throw A Tantrum In Long Car Journeys

When you’re a little kid, five minutes can feel like an hour – especially when you’re stuck in a car seat. That’s why, as any parent can tell you, there’s a limit on how long a car journey with a toddler can be before the whole thing erupts into a screaming match about the feasibility of a game of hide and seek halfway down the freeway. If science can crack cold fusion, it can certainly crack toddler tantrums. James Hind, a lecturer in statistics from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, has calculated a mathematical formula for predicting when things are about to go sideways in a long car drive – and it looks like this: T = 70 + 0.5E + 15F – 10S  Hind’s research, which was developed alongside UK auto insurer LV= Britannia Rescue, was based on information provided by… Source link

One fusion firm, Seattle-based Helion, raised a record $500 million from Sam Altman and Peter Thiel. … The Fusion Industry Association says that at least 33 different companies were now pursuing nuclear fusion, and… Source link

2024 DeLorean Plasmatail Wagon Is Real—the Wild Omega Baja-Style Concept? Pure Fantasy

2024 DeLorean Plasmatail Wagon Is Real—the Wild Omega Baja-Style Concept? Pure Fantasy

See all 10 photos The Plasmatail The first vehicle from DeLorean Motors Reimagined is what it’s billing as something of a done deal, a car based on Alpha5 coupe called the 2024 Alpha5 Plasmatail. The “tail” in Plasmatail is the car’s defining feature, which is dare we say wagonesque, or shooting brake in style if you prefer. We expect the car to keep the Alpha5’s eye-popping gullwing door arrangement, but with usable rear passenger seating that we expect will fold down to swallow up cargo. Speaking of, the extra gear you can fit in there is loaded via a useful rear hatch. The hatch itself looks to have a rear-spoiler effect connected to flanges on either side and lends a very different look to the back end of the vehicle over the coupe. Other than that, everything front of the hatch area… Source link

Jenny Hardman shares why she loves Great Lengths extensions

Jenny Hardman shares why she loves Great Lengths extensions

When it comes to extensions there are so many brands! Jenny Hardman recently switched to Great Lengths extensions and her Hair Stylist, Darren Willison, joined us in studio to explain why he recommends these extensions over all the others. – Great Lengths hair is ethically sourced, meaning he hair is donated as part of a voluntary Hindu ritual of devotion. – Once the hair is collected, GL works to get the hair to the correct color through a gentle, de-pigmentation process and re-pigmention process. The processes don’t involve ammonia or acids -which can damage and even destroy the hair cuticle. – The hair is triple drawn, which ensures that the density of each bundle of hair is the same from top to bottom. This means that when you order 18” of hair, you’re getting a true 18” in… Source link
