AFRIMS v8.xsoftware updates improves records management > Eglin Air Force Base > Article Display

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — In an effort to help the U.S. Air Force more efficiently manage records, the Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate’s Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) team produced an updated web-based application that enables over 20,000 records professionals across the Air Force to efficiently meet the critical records management mission.   The AFRIMS application was rewritten in its entirety in Java, eliminating dependency on the existing Adobe ColdFusion code and associated libraries and therefore eliminating security issues with the aging ColdFusion code base.  Cost benefits were also achieved by eliminating the annual ColdFusion subscription cost. The AFRIMS application utilizes a modern… Source link

Chiwetel Ejiofor in Showtime Redo – The Hollywood Reporter

Chiwetel Ejiofor in Showtime Redo – The Hollywood Reporter

No need to be sheepish. We’re among friends here. But raise your hand if the first few times you heard Sting’s “Englishman in New York,” you were convinced that the song, with its chorus beginning “I’m an alien/ I’m a legal alien,” was actually meant to be taken literally. Sure, the song (apparently written about writer Quentin Crisp) is just about the alienating sense of being an outsider, of having people judge you for your accent or aspiring to civility in an uncivilized land. But it’s much more fun if it’s also about a spaceman. The Man Who Fell to Earth The Bottom Line Ejiofor’s turn compensates for storytelling inconsistencies. It’s not adroit, or sensitive, to make… Source link

10 Tips To Survive Interloper In The Long Dark

10 Tips To Survive Interloper In The Long Dark

For a long time, The Long Dark boasted the Stalker difficulty as its most grueling. The community quickly tamed that beast and ran circles around what had been the most challenging dynamics. Long-time fans and enthusiasts begged Hinterwolf (the makers of the game) to throw something truly punishing at them, and so was born a difficulty so unforgiving that newbies the world over gulped – Interloper. Related: The Long Dark: Best Cheats Surviving a single day on this mode is an achievement in itself, and only 4% of all Steam players have claimed that prize. You begin with nothing, and quickly start dying on a random map in literally any weather. This introduction sorts the curious from the determined, and this list can help from there. 10 Choosing Feats … Source link

Three Hairstylist-Backed Tricks To Get The Look

Three Hairstylist-Backed Tricks To Get The Look

Just like most other beauty trends, it seems the key to rocking hair extensions is simple: Wearing it with pride. Once considered taboo, the narrative surrounding hair extensions has drastically changed in the age of social media. For years, extensionists like celebrity hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew often had to work in secret, keeping their high-profile projects confidential. “I’m like, ‘But don’t you want people to know the truth, especially young kids who look up to you?’” Sturdivant-Drew recalled to Allure. “It’s better to be honest.” Enter Instagram. In more recent times, stars have approached extensions more candidly, even tagging their extensionist in their Instagram posts. “That’s their way of saying, this is really not me; I borrowed this hair,” the stylist… Source link

RealClimate: The modern demarcation problem

RealClimate: The modern demarcation problem

Defining (and enforcing) a clear line between information and mis-information is impossible, but that doesn’t mean misinformation doesn’t exist or that there is nothing to be done to combat it. I found myself caught in an ‘interesting’ set of exchanges on twitter a few weeks ago (I won’t link to it to spare you the tedium, but you could probably find it if you look hard enough). The nominal issue was whether deplatforming known bull******s was useful at stemming the spread of misinformation (specifically with respect to discussions around COVID). There is evidence that this does in fact work to some extent, but the twitter thread quickly turned to the question of who decides what is misinformation in the first place, and then descended into a free-for-all where just the… Source link

However, an image is not necessary for publication. Remember opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect that of Redheaded Blackbelt nor have we checked the letters for accuracy. Hello to all, It has been brought to our attention the new proposed regulations concerning generators. Many of our farms are off grid and have been told by PGE that they will not supply power. The notion that solar power is green friendly is an arguable subject. We would like to see a study highlighting the social, environmental, and monetary benefits of solar. If we are… Source link

More Sandwiches, Less Kale Foam

More Sandwiches, Less Kale Foam

(Photograph by David Burden Photography/Getty Images.) Dear Reader (including those of you who were excited to learn that Jewish space lasers are real), Years ago, I watched a documentary called Sandwiches You Will Like. It was about the pursuit of cold fusion technology. No wait. That’s not right. It was about sandwiches you would like to eat (in fact, I was sure the full title of the documentary was Sandwiches You Will Like To Eat until I googled it just now). It was a good title and a pretty good documentary. If you’re scrolling through the channel guide and you’re the kind of person who likes to watch TV shows about sandwiches, you’re unlikely to skip past it because the title tells you what the show is about. If they called it Regional Sources of Sustenance: 1910-1980 or… Source link
